78 Granular & Neutralizers Granular & Neutralizers Loose, multi-purpose absorbents Granular absorbents are loose, multi-purpose absorbents used for liquid spill clean-up, lab packing and stabilization of free liquids. These absorbents are ideal for facilities that prefer or require the use of traditional granular absorbents. Neutralizing polymers provide safe spill control for most acids, including battery spills. Color change indicates when neutralization has taken place. The small, loose particles of a granular absorbent make it ideal for applications where a pad or roll would not offer a proper fit. Liquids don't always spill on a smooth surface. In those instances, a granular absorbent can absorb liquids from the cracks and crevices of a variety of surfaces. Liquids Absorbed: Oils Chemicals Solvents Popular Applications: Absorbing oils, solvents, lubricants, coolant and water on uneven surfaces including on roads or parking lots Acid or base spills requiring neutralization prior to spill cleanup Must Know OSHA Silica Ruling: One of the most common compositions for granular absorbents is diatomaceous earth, which is 80-90% silica based. OSHA's final rule on limiting exposure to respirable crystalline silica was issued in 2016 to curb lung cancer, silicosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and kidney disease. All of which have been linked to high levels of silica. Rely on Brady SPC absorbent pads and rolls as a safer, more efficient, non-silica solution for absorbing leaks, drips and spills.
