Why is spill control important?
When a spill occurs, having a proper spill control program that enables a quick and effective response can not only help to protect the environment, but also supports a safe and productive workplace for your employees. Brady SPC supplies products that help you comply with EPA and OSHA regulations. Why does that matter? Because the cost of non-compliance can have devastating effects on a business's reputation and financial performance.
Need to know regulations
The following OSHA and EPA regulations protect your employees and the environment: 29 CFR 1910.22(a)(2) - Walking-Working Surfaces The floor of every workroom shall be maintained in a clean and, so far as possible, a dry condition. Where wet processes are used, drainage shall be maintained, and false floors, platforms, mats, or other dry standing places should be provided where practicable. 40 CFR 112.7(c)(1)(viii) - General requirements for Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans Sorbent materials are included in the types of prevention systems that must be used for spill containment. 29 CFR 1910.120(j)(1)(vii) U.S. Department of Transportation specified salvage drums or containers and suitable quantities of proper absorbents shall be kept available and used in areas where spills, leaks, or ruptures may occur.
The EPA issued its final rule amending SPCC requirements under the authority of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act. This regulation became effective as of August 16, 2002.
The Poly-Edge Truck Mountable Spill Kit is designed to help you meet DOT spill containment regulations.
